Expert Forensic Examination
Insurance companies, transport and mining companies and members of the public call on us for cause and origin investigations and expert opinion reports into vehicle fires. We investigate whether the fire actually happened as alleged, whether the cause of the fire was due to a failure to properly service and/or maintain the vehicle, plant and/or equipment. If the fire was the result of poor maintenance and/or servicing we establish who did the work and if there is any potential for recovery. We also determine if the fire was accidental of incendiary in nature.

Work with Bob McKay
Robert (Bob) McKay, is a fully qualified Certified Fire Investigator, a qualification granted by the International Association of Arson Investigators (IAAI). Bob also holds a specialist endorsement in motor vehicle fires. Bob holds a Graduate Certificate in Fire Investigation. In holding these internationally recognised qualifications, Bob is able to provide forensic fire investigation services and prepare expert reports. Since 2016, Bob conducted over 300 cause and origin examinations and prepared Expert Opinion Reports for each.
Regularly Updated Qualifications
To maintain his qualifications, Bob is required to re-qualify every five years. To re-qualify, Bob must be able to demonstrate to the examining board of the International Association of Arson Investigators that in that three-year period, he has continued his studies and has actively worked as a fire investigator. This means Bob’s clients can be assured his training and qualifications are current and up to date.
